NYO Blog
Hello Again! Just thought I'd update everybody as I have an elusive 'free day' on the NYO Easter Course. We performed last night in the Barbican under Gianandrea Noseda, in a concert full of energy and passion. Playing Stravinsky's Concerto for Piano and Wind (with the incredible soloist Alexander Korsantya) and Berlioz's ever popular Symphonie Fantastique to a packed audience was a fantastic experience, especially the Stravinsky which demands a lot of chamber music-like playing in mind-boggling time signatures!! Noseda is undoubtedly an amazing conductor - he really gets the best out of the orchestra, and is a true Italian 'maestro'!
I'm also keeping up practise for the Tomasi Concerto in the BBC Competition, and if anybody would like to watch bits of the competition on T.V., here are the complete listings below

In preparation for this, I'm having a lesson on Friday with Andrew Everton, my previous teacher at home who is co-principal in the BBC NOW. Having not played to Andy for 4 years, it will be a great experience to once again benefit from his excellent input.
Well, best go, as I have a mountain of French and English prep to complete before the end of the Easter break! If anyone has any questions, comments or queries, feel free to post them on the message board on the site, and I'll try and get back to you asap.
