From Oxford to the Academy via Wigmpre Hall

What a rollercoaster couple of months! Its fair to say that I'd never expected life to pan out as it has, but after a month at Lincoln College, Oxford, I decided to call it a day and transfer to London to the RAM. Oxford was good fun, sure, but a lack of time to practice and a slightly bizzare environment in which to achieve my ambition of becoming a pro player were my main reasons for leaving. Now at the Academy, studying with James Watson, it has given me innumerable performing opportunities inside and outside music college and a chance to play with some of the best young trumpeters around. We have a hugely challenging concert approaching, playing West Side Story, On the Town and Pictures at an Exhibition for symphonic brass, and I'm on the picc! Luckily I have a bumper!!!

Wigmore Hall was also a fantastic opportunity, playing to a sizeable audience and a programme which went down a treat. After the upheaval of leaving Oxford, it was nice to get back on solid ground, the performance arena! I would just like to thank all those who attended, particularly some who travelled from Manchester, Huddersfield and further afield.

Well, I look forward to updating more frequently in the future, and to performing in a variety of different musical situations over the forthcoming months. I have some exciting projects in the pipeline, not all of which I can reveal, but they include the Porcia International Competition in Italy, an EUYO audition, GMJO audition and concerts in Manchester and Basingstoke with a variety of ensembles.
